Zile

 

a city in northern Turkey, in Tokat Vilayet (province). Population, 26,200 (1965). Zile is the trade center for an agricultural region producing wheat, tobacco, and sugar beets, which are processed in the sugar mill in Turhal, northeast of Zile. The city’s industry is of local significance (mills and bakeries).
