Zune software

An earlier music, video and photo organizer for Windows PCs and Xbox game consoles from Microsoft. Along the lines of Apple's iTunes software, Zune was used to synchronize media between the computer and a Windows Phone, and it was also used to update the phone's OS. Mac users with Windows Phones required an iTunes synchronization program (see Windows Phone Connector for Mac).

Zune Marketplace
Zune was the funnel into Zune Marketplace, Microsoft's online music service. Zune became Xbox Music and then Groove Music, which was discontinued at the end of 2017. See Zune.

Windows Phone 7 did it in conjunction with the Zune software and the iPhone does it when coupled together with iTunes, but for some reason Windows Phone 8 is missing this feature?
The update will be delivered using the Microsoft Zune software (or Windows Phone 7 Connector if you have a Mac).
