In case of end
bearing pile under seismic excitation, the pile base can be represented by a horizontal movement of the type,
The Heavy Section Mill now produces parallel-flange beams, columns and
bearing piles with up to 1,016 millimeter web depth and 419 flange width, up to 430 millimeter parallel flange channels, 250 millimeter angles, 750 millimeter U-sheet piles and 630 millimeter Z-sheet piles using 350x220 millimeter blooms and up to 1050x460x120 millimeter beam blanks as starting material.
They will construct 262 continuous flight augered
bearing piles, 350mm and 400mm diameter, to a maximum depth of 18.1 metres.
The barrage used: 100 piles each driven to a depth of 11m into the river bed; 70 tonnes of reinforcing steel; 38
bearing piles sunk to a depth of 17m into the river bed; concrete weighing 2,500 tons; 200 tonnes of stone fill; and lock gates each weighing eight tonnes.
A spokesman said: ``This has prevented the installation of the
bearing piles in their usual location.''
These deep (150 to 200 ft) end
bearing piles rest on bedrock, eliminating problems with settling.
A Danieli construction Constructed by Italy's Danieli, the Emirates Steel Heavy Section Mill will produce parallel-flange beams, columns and
bearing piles with up to 1,016 mm web depth and 419 flange width, up to 430 mm parallel flange channels, 250 mm angles, 750 mm U-sheet piles and 630 mm Z-sheet piles using 350 x 220 mm conticast blooms and up to 1050 x 460 x 120 mm beam blanks as starting material.
