a river in the Yakut ASSR; right tributary of the Kolyma. Length, 517 km; basin area, 24,800 sq km. Flows in a broad valley through the Iukagir plateau. It is fed primarily by rain and is icebound from October until mid-May. About 2,000 lakes are located in the Berezovka basin. The river is used for floating timber. At the beginning of the 20th century the body of a mammoth was found in the bed of the Berezovka; it was subsequently brought to St. Petersburg.
