Lasting from October 2 until November 7 the Orionids is the second shower caused by
comet Halley.
The Eta Aquarids in May is the other meteor shower created by debris left by
Comet Halley, it said.
The Orionid meteor shower is one of two meteor showers created by debris from
Comet Halley, the other is The Eta Aquarids which happens in May.
I felt cheated by the Comet Kohoutek fizzle in 1973, slept through Comet West in 1976 and was sorely disappointed by the fuzz ball that was
Comet Halley in 1986.
The comet has ever since been known as Halley's comet, or in line with the conventions of the present day,
Comet Halley.
