Cram, Donald

Cram, Donald (James)

(1919–  ) chemist; born in Chester, Vt. He became affiliated with the University of California: Los Angeles in 1947. He elucidated mechanisms of molecular recognition, working most notably on the properties of crown ether molecules. He shared the Nobel Prize in chemistry (1987) for this work.
