Deutschheim State Historic Site
Location:In Hermann on 2nd Street, west of Market Street/Hwy 19 in Gasconade County.
Activities:Guided tours.
Special Features:Park includes four buildings in Hermann's historic district which
reflect the culture and contributions of Missouri's early German
immigrants. Strehly House was the site of the first print shop west of
Saint Louis. Pommer-Genter House is restored and furnished as in 1840,
and its barn displays early German tools and implements. Tour also
includes a winery and two period gardens.
