EGA's GAC project is one of the largest greenfield investments in Guinea in the last 40 years, and cost some $1.4 billion (Dh5.1 billion) to develop.

The award-winning Al Taweelah smelter complex in Abu Dhabi, the world's largest single-site aluminum smelter when it was constructed, is another successful collaboration with
EGA, where SNC-Lavalin provided engineering, procurement and construction Management (EPCM) services for the project's first and second phases.
Since 1999,
EGA has received nearly 500,000 suggestions for operational and technical improvements, out of which 270,000 have been implemented to generate savings of Dh366 million.

EGA we have been able to turn this waste into value in the UAE."
EGA said that the facility will be used to pre-treat SPL so that cement companies in the UAE can use it as an alternative feedstock; the company had supplied over 41,000 tonnes of SPL to UAE cement companies last year.
Additionally,
EGA expects a 7% reduction in emissions per tonne of aluminium produced at the plant, including through power generation and aluminium smelting.
EGA employs more than 1,500 professionals in STEM fields including some 500 UAE Nationals.
