Edward "Ted" and Pat Jones-Confluence Point State Park
Location:Off Highway 67 east, on Riverlands Way just before Clark's Bridge, in Saint Charles County.
Facilities:Interpretive trail, exhibits.
Special Features:Missouri's newest state park is situated at the point
where the Mississippi and Missouri rivers meet. The history of the
rivers and the role they played in the Lewis and Clark Expedition
are interpreted at the park in outdoor exhibits, and a short
trail takes visitors to the confluence point. Future plans
for the park include restoration of a natural floodplain, which will
emphasize native vegetation and natural wetlands suitable for the
site's current soil, topography, and hydrology. This will include
forests, prairies, and marshes.
