Scrub Typhus in Pregnant Women: We reported scrubtyphus in a pregnant female G2P1L1 26 weeks of gestation presented with fever and eschar over thigh.
An eschar swab sample and an eschar biopsy sample were removed under aseptic conditions and sent together with EDTA-treated blood and serum specimens to Spain's reference center for rickettsioses (Hospital San Pedro-Centro de Investigacion Biomedica de La Rioja, Logrono, Spain) for molecular analysis.
Both of these factors result in a deeper, more extensive zone of necrosis and the exposure of more and larger vessels when the eschar later sloughs.
The eschar on the patient reported here was located below the umbilicus, and he had no sign of inguinal lymphadenopathy or lymphangitis on the abdominal wall.
Chlorhexidine ointment was applied to the eschar of the right stifle injury, but no bandage was placed because of the location of the injury.

In full thickness burns, if the cartilage is not exposed, some authors suggest leaving the eschar to separate spontaneously as it acts as a biological cover for underlying cartilage preventing it from desiccation and applying split skin graft over the underlying granulation tissue later.
Macroscopic grading of erythema, edema, bleeding, and eschar formation was performed 30 min after removing the patches and 72 h after the initial application.
