GeoPort

An earlier, enhanced serial port technology from Apple designed for voice and video applications. Standard on earlier Mac models until the late-1990s, the GeoPort enabled the Mac's internal hardware to provide modem and fax communications. GeoPort provided a 2 Mbps bandwidth, suitable for videoconferencing but was mostly used as a modem with Apple's GeoPort Telecom Adapter for analog phones.
