Katy Trail State Park

Location:From Saint Charles to Clinton.
Activities:Walking/hiking, mountain biking, bicycling; horseback riding permitted from the State Fairgrounds in Sedalia to Calhoun.
Special Features:Park is built on the former corridor of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) Railroad, known as the "Katy." Much of the trail lies alongside the Missouri River, traveling through dense forests, wetlands, deep valleys, remnant prairies, open pastureland, and gently rolling farm fields. Trailheads are located about every 10 miles along the route.
