Web: www.visitmo.com Description:Byway provides a opportunity to visit some of Missouri's historical districts and to get a feel for the Old South through the area's Victorian-era streetscapes and plantation-era mansions. Areas of interest include: the Clarksville Historic District, Georgia Street Historic District in the city of Louisiana; and the 6,705-acre Ted Shanks Conservation Area. Lock and Dam #24, near Clarksville, offers a vantage point from which to view the American bald eagle and other birds that pass through the corridor.
Legth: 30 miles. Start/Endpoint: Byway parallels the Mississippi River along SR 79 from Clarksville to Pike County's northern boundary. Time to Allow: 1 hour. Designation/Year: National Scenic Byway (2002).
