Meego. Then it was rumored that Intel will abandon
Meego.
Nokia has announced a new full touchscreen smartphone that runs on the
MeeGo platform.
Nokia also showed the N9, a touchscreen smartphone based on its
MeeGo software that will start shipping later this year.
The Intel Atom processor Z670 allows applications to run on various operating systems, including Google, Android,
MeeGo and Windows.
Under the new strategy,
MeeGo becomes an open-source, mobile operating system project.
The company also announced accelerated LTE platforms, a new
MeeGo tablet user experience, the acquisition of Silicon Hive, and several new mobile investments and software development tools.
The virtual desktop is intended for the
MeeGo open-source software platform running on an Intel Atom processor-based tablet.
Elop refused to say when their first Windows phone would go on sale but added that they won't be completely dumping Symbian or the
Meego platform they have been developing.
