Lauory lchloride is produced by mixing of fatty or lauric acid with an excess of
thionyl chloride followed by separating crude fatty acid by hydrolyzing the unreacted phosphorous chloride.
Thionyl chloride (15 mL) was added to 0.01 mol corresponding acids.
Thionyl chloride, p-phenylenediamine, dimethylformamide (DMF), concentrated nitric acid, and diiodomethane were of analytical grade and obtained from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd., China.
The Group's new production lines for chlorinated polyvinyl chloride,
thionyl chloride and styrene-acrylic latex, which commenced operation last year, have been contributing to the Group's profitability.
The British energy firm's lithium
thionyl chloride battery comes in three different variations and is used mostly for sensor applications in remote areas, said Jonathan DiGiacomandrea, company applications engineering manager.
The produced MWCNT-COOH was reacted with
thionyl chloride in the presence and absence of dimethylformamide (DMF) (Yu et al., 2008b).
Then, 1.2 molar equivalence of
thionyl chloride (0.406 mL, 0.662 g) was diluted with anhydrous DCM in a syringe (4 mL) and added dropwise by syringe to the solution.
Cinnamic acid dissolved in refluxing
thionyl chloride with catalytic DMF was the preferred route for the synthesis of acyl chlorides destined for the synthesis of the ester, while the acyl chloride synthesized from cold oxalyl chloride in C[H.sub.2][Cl.sub.2] yielded much cleaner crude reaction mixtures and higher yields in the synthesis of the cinnamyl amide.
