VESA Display Stream Compression

A VESA standard for a "visually lossless" and economical method for transmitting ultra high-definition video content (4K and above) between a computer and monitor or between a set-top box and TV set. Visually lossless means that the data are not entirely lossless but people cannot notice any degradation in image quality due to the compression. See lossless compression, DisplayPort 1.4 and data compression.
