Location:35 miles west of Marquette on US 41.
Facilities:147 modern campsites (é), 40 rustic campsites (é), rustic cabin, mini-cabin, picnic area and shelter, playground, beach house (é), boat launch (é), concession/store, snowmobile area.
Activities:Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, wildlife observation, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park contains a half-mile of frontage on the east end of Lake Michigamme, which has a fine sand beach and also is one of the top walleye lakes in the Upper Peninsula. Iron ore was first discovered in this area in 1845, a few miles east of the park, and evidence of early mining ventures can still be seen along the foot trails that wander through the hills on the north side of the highway.
