Winterm

A early family of thin clients (terminals) from Wyse Technology, San Jose, CA (www.wyse.com) that displayed Windows, Java, Linux, Unix and Web-based applications running on servers in an enterprise or the Internet. It uses a variety of thin display protocols, including HTML, X Window, text terminal emulations (ASCII, ANSI, IBM), Microsoft Terminal Services and ICA. Winterm thin clients use embedded operating systems such as Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE, Linux and Wyse's own Blazer OS. See thin client and ICA.

The cross- platform (NT servers, Mac pagination stations, WinTerm reporting/editing stations) 50-workstation system consists of the basic SaxoPress editorial system (Articles module, SaxoText editor, photos module, wire copy and photos modules, layout module, and Quark XTensions); Automatic Image Processor software to automate image preparation for output in print and on the Web; thin-client or remote- access SaxoAnywhere for performing basic editorial function through a Web browser; NetNews Web Publishing for integrating Web page-building into the newsroom work flow; and SaxoBRS for archiving text, photos, and pages.
