Wygant State Natural Area

Location:Off I-84, 7 miles west of Hood River.

Special Features:Wygant is one of three state parks joined together at Mitchell Point; the other two are Seneca Fouts Memorial State Natural Area and Vinzenz Lausmann Memorial State Natural Area (see separate entries). Area's trail strikes through a dense, hilly wilderness that was once the old Oregon Trail and later the Columbia River Highway.
