[ə′täm·ik ′mȯis·chər ‚mēd·ər] (engineering)
An instrument that measures the moisture content of coal instantaneously and continuously by bombarding it with neutrons and measuring the neutrons which bounce back to a detector tube after striking hydrogen atoms of water.
