(1) Software in a computer or on a website that simulates a mobile app running in a variety of smartphone hardware. Developers evaluate how their apps look on different hardware models and screen sizes.

(2) Software in a computer that runs a mobile app. See Android player.

(3) Software in a computer or on a website that simulates an app running in all the major mobile Web browsers. This type of mobile emulator is especially used to test Web designs that dynamically adjust to the requesting device (see responsive Web design).
