100VG-AnyLAN
A 100 Mbps version of Ethernet developed by HP that was able to transport both Ethernet and Token Ring frames. It was a shared media LAN like Ethernet, but employed the Demand Priority access method rather than CSMA/CD, allowing real-time voice and video to be given high priority. For a while, 100VG-AnyLAN was also called "Fast Ethernet," but the IEEE 802.3u Fast Ethernet became the standard.Copyright © 1981-2025 by The Computer Language Company Inc. All Rights reserved.
