Abasha

 

a city (an urban-type settlement until 1964), the center of Abasha Raion, Georgian SSR. Situated in the Kolkhida lowlands, Abasha is a railroad station on the Sukhumi-Samtredia line. Population in 1967, 6,500. It is the site of mechanical, rubber-footwear, and essential-oils plants, a weaving mill, a tea factory, and an agricultural technicum.
