Amursk

 

urban-type settlement and administrative center of Amur Raion, Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR; on the left bank of the Amur River; 60 km north of Komsomol’sk-na-Amur and 18 km from the Mylki railroad station (on the Volochaevka-Komsomol’sk-na-Amur line). The population in 1968 was 25,000.

Amursk was founded in 1958 in connection with the construction of a large pulp and cardboard complex. There is an evening pulp and paper technicum.
