Anklesvar
a city and petroleum-producing center in India in the state of Gujarat near the Narbada River. Population, approximately 20,000. The city developed along with the exploitation of oil deposits, begun in 1960 with the help of the USSR. Anklesvar is also the site of cotton-ginning and knitwear and soap-making enterprises.
