Born Feb. 11, 1902, in Copenhagen; died there Mar. 24, 1971. Danish architect of the functionalist school.
Jacobsen graduated from the school of the Technical Society in 1924 and from the Copenhagen Academy of Arts in 1927; he became a professor at the academy in 1956. His works include the Bellavista housing complex and theater (1931), the first functionalist buildings in Denmark. He also designed the Stellings Building (1937), the Jespersen Building (1955), and the SAS airline terminal and hotel (1959–61), all of which are in Copenhagen. In Gentofte he designed a stadium and a complex of row houses (1947–49).
