Bactericidal Lamp

 

a low-pressure (several millimeters of mercury) gas-discharge mercury lamp with a power of 15–30 watts, with a uviol glass tube; used for the disinfection with ultraviolet rays (wavelength 253 angstroms) of air in rooms, articles of everyday use, water, and so on, and for therapeutic purposes.
