Location:In downtown Sitka on Lincoln Street.
Facilities:Walkway (é) to site, interpretive panels.
Special Features:Castle Hill is the site of the transfer of the Alaska territory from
Russia to the United States in 1867. Tlingit natives originally
inhabited this area and built a strategic fortification at this site. A
walk to the top of the hill provides spectacular views of downtown
Sitka and the waterfront.
