Blast-Hole Drilling

 

the aggregate of production processes associated with the separation of rock from a mountain massif by blasting and the simultaneous crushing and removal of the rock. Blast-hole drilling includes the sinking of charging cavities (blast holes, drill holes, or chambers) for placing explosive charges and the loading, priming, and triggering of the explosion. As opposed to blasting, the term “blast-hole drilling” emphasizes the technical and economic inseparableness of drilling and the demolition of rock by explosives.
