DirectCompute

Microsoft's programming interface (API) for performing parallel processing operations on a GPU. Used to write scientific and financial applications, DirectCompute is part of Microsoft's DirectX family, which allows low-level access to the hardware in a PC. See GPGPU and DirectX.
