Eumelus

 

the ruler of the Bosporan state from 310 B.C. to 304 B.C.

Eumelus seized the throne after a struggle with his elder brothers. Under his rule some of the neighboring lands were annexed to the Bosporan state. He encouraged the development of trade, particularly with the southern Black Sea region, where he was successful in combating pirates.
