Location:Northeast Illinois, along the I & M Canal in the city of Morris.
Facilities:Primitive walk-in camping area, 5 picnic areas, 2 picnic shelters with restrooms, playground, baseball diamond, horseshoe pits, 3 fishing ponds, trails, information center.
Activities:Camping, boating (no gas motors), canoeing, fishing, hiking, bicycling, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park is bordered on the south by the Illinois & Michigan Canal and to the north by Nettle Creek. A footbridge connects the park to the historic I & M Canal State Trail, a 61-mile trail on an old canal towpath. The trail includes interpretive exhibits that describe the canal and the era of canal travel. A stone aqueduct that was originally built to carry the canal over Nettle Creek adds to the history of the area.
