Iwo

 

a city in southwestern Nigeria, in the Western State. Population, 188,500 (1970). Iwo is an important commercial and crafts center. Cocoa beans and the fruit of oil-yielding palm trees are harvested. The production of palm oil and indigo are also important, as is cotton weaving.
