Kular

 

an urban-type settlement in Ust’-Ianskii Raion, Yakut ASSR, located 90 km from the Laptev Sea, in the Ulakhan-Sis Mountains. Gold is mined near Kular.


Kular

 

a mountain range in northern Yakut ASSR. It is the watershed of the Yana and Omoloi rivers. Length, 380 km; elevation, 1,289 m. It is formed of shales and sandstones with intrusions of granites in the north. The Kular Mountains, deeply indented by river valleys, are covered by mountain-tundra vegetation and by deciduous tundra forests in the valleys. There are deposits of gold and tin ores.
