Pasadena

 

a city on the southern Pacific coast of the USA, in California. A northeastern suburb of Los Angeles. Population, 113,000 (1970).

Pasadena is a well-known center of research and development in electronics, missiles, and spacecraft. It also has a food-processing industry. The California Institute of Technology is in Pasadena. The city also has a health resort. The Tournament of Roses has been held in the city on New Year’s Day since 1890.

a city in the southern USA, in Texas. A southeastern suburb of Houston. Port on the Houston Ship Channel, which leads to the Gulf of Mexico. Population, 89,000 (1970). Oil is drilled within city limits. Industries include oil-refining, chemicals, and food-processing.
