Pogynden

 

a river in the Chukchi National Okrug, Magadan Oblast, RSFSR, a right tributary of the Malyi Aniui River, in the basin of the Kolyma. It is 297 km long and drains an area of 13,100 sq km. Originating in the spurs of the Rauchuan Range, it flows primarily through the mountains. The river is fed by snow and rain. It freezes from December through April. The Pogynden basin contains gold deposits.
