An earlier browser plug-in from Canadian-based Ncompass Labs, Inc. that made Netscape Navigator running under Windows 95 ActiveX compliant. In 2001, Microsoft acquired Ncompass and its Web content management system and integrated the technology into its .NET Enterprise Server family. See ActiveX.
