Location:Northeastern Illinois, 5 miles west of Yorkville, off IL 47, in Kendall County.
Facilities:Youth group camping area (no vehicle access), picnic area, shelters, restrooms, refreshment stand, nature trails (4 miles), equestrian trail (7 miles), snowmobile trail (4 miles).
Activities:Camping, boating (no gas motors), canoeing, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, hunting, cross-country skiing, sledding, ice skating, snowmobiling.
Special Features:Area is named for the pool of clear bubbling water located here, which does not freeze even on the coldest winter days. The area also features a segment of the Fox River and several small manmade lakes. A 45-acre natural prairie restoration project gives visitors a sense of the area's original landscape, with native wildflowers, songbirds, waterfowl, and upland game.
