The angle that the lateral body axis of an aircraft or similar body makes with a chosen reference plane in rolling; usually, the angle between the lateral axis and a horizontal plane.

In this case the aircraft is rolling to the left as seen from the rear. It is a negative angle of roll.
The angle that the lateral body axis of an aircraft, or any similar body, makes with the selected reference plane in rolling. It is usually the angle between the lateral axis and a horizontal plane. The angle of roll is considered positive if the roll is to the right and negative if it is to the left.
