anonymous proxy
anonymous proxy
A server that functions as a relay between the user and a destination website. It hides the IP address of the user's machine from the website and may provide encryption on the user side. Many organizations create their own anonymous proxy servers, and there are public access anonymous proxy servers on the Internet that can be used by anyone. See Tor, anonymous Web surfing, onion routing and Web bug.Copyright © 1981-2025 by The Computer Language Company Inc. All Rights reserved. THIS DEFINITION IS FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY.
