A collective term for the rock-forming minerals pyroxene, amphibole, and mica.
A chemically diverse but structurally related group of minerals that constitute substantial fractions of both the earth's crust and upper mantle; they exhibit single-chain, double-chain, triple-chain, and sheet silicate structures.
