blockchain protocol

The architecture of a particular blockchain. Blockchain computers (nodes) communicate with crypto wallets, crypto exchanges, decentralized apps (dApps), and equally as important, with each other, via a software interface that follows the rules and formats defined by the protocol. In practice, the terms protocol, algorithm, interface and architecture are often used synonymously. See blockchain and crypto glossary.
