consolidated server
consolidated server
A multiprocessor computer system consisting of several rack-mounted or modularized CPU boards that use fault tolerant components and share disk storage. SMP versions share a common memory pool. Typically built on x86-based motherboards, consolidated servers are controlled from a single administrative console and exemplify the evolution from mainframes to PC-based servers for mission critical use.Copyright © 1981-2025 by The Computer Language Company Inc.
