Blue violet flowers in figwort family. Root and leaf tea used as astringent, blood purifier, liver, kidney, lung, asthma, expectorant, diuretic, expectorant, gout, helps heal ulcers. Bitter astringent. Used for stomach, digestion, skin problems. Wild weedy relatives are Ivyleaved speedwell (V. hererifolia), Field Speedwell (V. persica), Germander Speedwell (V. chamaedrys)
