Agrobiology

the sum of knowledge in the field of biology that relates directly to plant growing and livestock raising. Agrobiology includes the application of major laws of biology to agricultural practice. In the 1940’s and 1950’s, T. D. Lysenko and his followers unjustifiably tried to substitute the term “agrobiology” for the concept of biology as a whole. This attempt failed. In recent years the term “agrobiology” has been displaced by “agricultural biology” in Soviet scientific literature.
