alphanumerish

From "alphanumeric," meaning a combination of letters and digits, alphanumerish uses digits and single letters as shorthand for words. It came about as more and more people began to routinely send short messages on tiny pager, PDA and cellphone screens. For example, 2U means "to you." UR means "you are." See emoticon and digispeak.
