sinoatrial node
[¦sī·nō′ā·trē·əl ′nōd] (anatomy)
A bundle of Purkinje fibers located near the junction of the superior vena cava with the right atrium which acts as a pacemaker for cardiac excitation. Abbreviated SA node. Also known as sinoauricular node.
