axial plane

[′ak·sē·əl ′plān]
(crystallography)
A plane that includes two of the crystallographic axes.
The plane of the optic axis of an optically biaxial crystal.
(geology)
A plane that intersects the crest or trough in such a manner that the limbs or sides of the fold are more or less symmetrically arranged with reference to it. Also known as axial surface.

In meta-analyses reporting spontaneous passage rates, the size of a ureteral stone is usually accepted as the widest measurement on the axial plane or the largest measurement of the stone (4).
In pars flaccida cholesteatoma cases, lateral attic expansion and scutum erosion were determined in the coronal plane, whereas in pars tensa perforation cases (pars tensa cholesteatomas), medial attic expansion and posterior wall flattening (smooth remodeling) were best visualized in the axial plane. The recess expansions were confirmed by quantitative measurements.
Healthy, intact Krohn stage larvae were bisected through the midline in the sagittal, coronal, or axial planes, with a sterile microsurgical blade (Figs.
Spinal canal decompression by laminectomy is also made, seen in axial plane with bone window (d, white arrowheads) showing the absence of posterior arch of C1 (in comparison to image c of Figure 1).
The parameters used for the patients were as follows: Turbospin echo T2 weighted sequences (T2 w) (TR: 3000, TE:74, flip angle: 150), spin echo T1 w sequence (TR:473, TE:7.7, flip angle: 90) on the axial plane, turbospin echo fat-saturated T2 w sequence (TR: 3300, TE:74, flip angle: 150) on the coronal plane, and turbospin echo T2 w sequence (TR: 6030, TE:103, flip angle: 150) on the sagittal plane.

Since each time the axial plane of the line and the symmetry plane of the resonator are aligned the amplitude of the output signal is a maximum, and this occurs twice per cycle, it follows that the angular velocity can be inferred from the envelope of the modulated signal.

In such a way, only a single plane is affected at one time (i.e., coronal, sagittal, and axial plane), starting from the most important one, as indicated by the major principal inertia axis.
It can be seen that (1) the results of the free water surfaces of numerical model and physical model are similar; (2) the free water surfaces of the axial plane and near sidewall were higher, and it is lower in other places, like a "W" shape, which is different from that of the traditional stepped spillway.
