A study was conducted on the effect of bandwidth or frequency increment between signals on the beam resolution. It was found that as the frequency increment or bandwidth was increased the resolution of the beam became shaper.
This determines patterning-relevant characteristics like the beam resolution laterally but also in Z direction (depth), the type of damage to the sample (underneath and outside the pattern), and the milling speed.
