Designed to measure and communicate the distance between passing buckets and the elevator housing, the Belt Position Monitoring System allows contactless recognition of the belt position inside
bucket elevators with four Belt Edge Distance Sensors attached to either side of the bucket elevator--two at the head and two at the boot.
The
bucket elevator has a throughput of 720 kgs per hour of sweet popcorn and 324 kgs per hour of salty popcorn and runs at a speed of 15 metres per minute.
The
bucket elevators are based on a standard product design with simple sand-handling modifications, such as high-wear buckets, commercial bearings, urethane-lined boot and head sections, self-cleaning boot pulley and abrasion-resistant rubber spouting.
By January 2002, some bearings and other components of the
bucket elevator were worn and needed to be fixed.
A HiLoad
Bucket Elevator featuring a new self cleaning boot design will be the subject of a collaborative announcement at the show and will be on display, together with a selection of other machines from the range.
In the early 90s, it was using a sand reclamation system that consisted of a mechanical reclaimer with
bucket elevator, sand cooler, classifier and storage silo.
Products on show will include a pick and place cell that uses a FANUC robotic arm, and Carrier's Bulk's Swing
Bucket Elevator Ele-Flow, which delicately conveys almost any free flowing product from A to B in either Z or C configuration.
* To place the sand into the hopper or bin, the foundry may require the installation of an inclined belt,
bucket elevator or receiving hopper.
The technology eliminates the need for a separate sand cooler, as well as its associated
bucket elevator, surge bin and belt conveyors, lowering capital costs.
